We are preparing a preliminary study to identify potential whale shark hotspots in the waters around Mangkai Island. By gathering local knowledge from fishermen and local community, we hope to better understand their presence and behavior — laying the groundwork for future protection and education opportunities.
To heal the scars of past blast fishing, we are launching a coral rehabilitation project in selected reef zones. Using science-guided methods and involving local volunteers, this effort aims to restore coral cover, enhance biodiversity, and rebuild reef resilience for future generations.
